Private Christopher Barton.

42292 2nd Suffolk Regiment, X Coy.

Died of Wounds 27th September 1918, aged 19.

Christopher was the son of Daniel Barton and Mary Walsh, he was born in Burnley. In the 1901 census the family lived at 7 Maria St., Burnley. Along with his parents was his brother Daniel who was 2 months old. His father’s occupation was that of a Railway Porter.

In the 1911 census the family had expanded. Unfortunately Daniel had died but he had gained another two brothers, William aged 7 and Joseph aged 3 along with a sister, Mary Agnes aged 1.  Mary’s brother William Walsh was also boarding with them.

Lived at 39 Albert Street, Burnley.

Chris left his effects to his father, Daniel.

Christopher was buried in Hermies Hill British Cemetery, France. Grave Ref: III.D.3
