Charles was born in the Dec quarter of 1892, Burnley. The son of Arthur Harrison and Mary A Burton. In the 1901 census his family were living at 11 Brick St, Burnley. Arthur 34 a canal carter, Mary 35, Margaret 12, Charles 8, and Robert 4 all born in Burnley.
By the time of the 1911 census the family had moved to 39 Calder Vale Rd, Burnley. Arthur 44, Mary Ann 45, Margaret 22, Charles 18, Robert 15, John 9 and Mary’s mother Margaret Burton aged 70. His parents had been married 23 years with all 4 children surviving.

Much sympathy is felt for Mrs Parker of Lyndhurst Road Burnley, in the sad news she has received of the death in Action of her brother corporal 63432 Charles Harrison of the Machine Gun Corps. This is the second bereavement Mrs Parker has suffered through the war, her brother, Private Robert Harrison who served in the 8th KOR Lancaster Regiment, having been killed on August 16 1916. Both have fallen in France, and before enlisting they lived with Mrs Parker, whose husband, a grocer has now been on Active Service or sometime. Corporal Charles Harrison, who was aged 24 years and worked at Messrs’ Lee's Dye works was in the Burnley Territorials at the time war broke out. He served in the Dardanelles without injury, and left as a time expired man. Subsequently he rejoined the army, and was placed in the Machine Gun Corps. He left England shortly after Christmas, and the official news States he was killed in action on November 14th. He attended St Mary's RC Church...............

Charles left his effects to his father Arthur.
