From the Express & Advertiser 20th April 1918:  SECOND BROTHER KILLED

Mrs. Moore, of 18 Gresham Place, Burnley, has just been officially informed that her husband, Pte. Joseph Moore, 235041, of the South Lancashire Regt., was killed on March 22nd.  He was 31 years of age and leaves a wife, and two children.

Previous to enlistment he was a striker at Messrs. Keighley's ironworks, Burnley, and was identified with St. Mary Magdalene's Roman Catholic Church, Burnley.  He enlisted at Burnley in October, 1914, and received his training at Colchester, where he remained until May 3rd of last year, when he was drafted out.

His brother, Pte. John Moore, of the Irish Guards, made the supreme sacrifice on May 23rd May, 1915 and two other brothers are serving - one Pte. Robert Moore, in Egypt and James who is at Kinmel Park he having been twice wounded.
