From the Burnley Express dated 25th May 1918:  BURNLEY FAMILY'S SECOND LOSS

Mr. & Mrs. Waring, of 21 Bankhouse Street, Burnley have recieived information that their eldest son, Lance. Cpl. Thomas Waring, of the North Staffs. Regt. died in hospital in France on May 17th, as a result of gas poisoning on the 13th.  He was married, and leaves a widow and two children.  It is just six months since his younger brother died from wounds in France.  Lance Cpl. T. Waring enlisted in January, 1917, and had been out eight months.  He was a painter on his own account, and his wife lives at Chorley.
